Isidro and Isabel are the driving force behind the Santa Barbara Flag Football Academy (SBFFA). As individuals who were born and raised in Santa Barbara, building an organization that serves this specific community is deeply personal for them. Their roots here run deep, and their commitment to providing a premier athletic outlet for local youth is fueled by their love for the city they call home.

The heart of SBFFA is family. As parents to four children, Isidro and Isabel have watched their own kids grow through the sport, each bringing a unique spirit to the league:

• Camila: The true inspiration behind the league. Her intense focus and dedication to the sport—and her dream of one day playing at the professional level—sparked the vision to create a high-caliber training ground in Santa Barbara.

• Talia: It has been a joy to watch Talia find her own passion for flag football, beginning her own journey within the sport.

• Adalina: Known as the fun and loving spirit of the league, Adalina reminds everyone of the joy and community that sports can build.

• Dominic: The youngest of the group, Dominic is already showing a deep love for the game as he learns to throw his first footballs.

The founders' goal was to establish a league that doesn't just offer games, but provides a true path for development. By ensuring the league is backed by USA Football, they offer the highest standard of training and safety protocols. This foundation is designed to help players reach the "next level," ensuring they are technically and mentally prepared for High School Athletics, Collegiate Programs, and Professional Aspirations.

Isidro brings a lifetime of football knowledge to the academy. Having played tackle football at both the high school and collegiate levels, he understands the grit and technique required to succeed in the sport. Over the last four years, he has dedicated himself to coaching girls flag football, honing his ability to mentor athletes and translate complex football concepts into actionable skills.

 

Isabel

Isabel is the engine that keeps the league running smoothly. With several years of experience in the flag football world, she pairs her passion for the game with a formidable administrative background. Isabel handles the vital "behind-the-scenes" work, from coordinating major events and logistics to providing hands-on support for teams and families.

Together, Isidro and Isabel are dedicated to fostering a community where Santa Barbara’s youth can excel, compete, and build a foundation for their future—both on and off the field.
